Cool Beans: ASUS Eee PC “Ultimate” S101 revealed

Jake Bechtold | August 7, 2008

Since this is Wired For Gadgets, I best talk about one. ASUS, the guys who came up with the Ultra-Portable Eee PC has done it again with the Eee PC S101.

Yesterday, ASUS President Jerry Shen revealed the new machine. S101 features the same 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor and 945GME chipset found in current gen Eees with prices to range from $699 for the 32GB SSD model on up to $899 for a 40GB SSD (rumor has it that the $899 model has a 64GB SSD, but this has not yet been confirmed.

For those who aren’t familiar, the Eee PC is ASUS’s take on an ultra-portable laptop that is inexpensive but still very functional.
