Get your own Private Phone Number

Jake Bechtold | July 8, 2006

A big problem in addition to keeping email addresses private, is keeping cell phone numbers private. And Privatephone can help. Private Phone (from Netzero) gives you a free private voice mail phone number. Give out to friend co-workers, anyone you don’t want to give your real number to. When signing up, can pick which state and area code to make it look like a legit number (or not so legit).

Every PrivatePhone™ call goes right to voicemail that you can check anytime online or over the phone, so you’re never interrupted. Then sign up for text and email alerts, so you never miss a call. It couldn’t be easier to stay as connected as you want….and protect what’s private.

So just to see how effective it is, I’ve setup a Wired For Gadgets phone number. Call (701) 212-1195 and leave a message. Be warned, that it will be a long distance call to Fargo, ND, USA.
