Vista Tip: Disable Breadcrumbs

Jake Bechtold | October 9, 2007

When vista came out, it had many “improvments”. One of these is what has been deemed “Breadcrumbs”, that is, instead of showing “C:\Program files\Mozilla\Firefox\” it shows you the folders you went to (as shown above). Until now, there was no way of reverting back to this old address bar.

Andreas Verhoeven has developed a little utility that lets you disable bread crumbs. All you have to do is download and unzip the file, double click on AveNoBreadCrumb.exe and open a new explorer window. Your bread crumbs should be gone. Double clicking again will restore them. Pretty neat, eh?
